Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities Include:

  • Extensive experience working in personal injury litigation including drafting pleadings, motions, orders, discovery responses, correspondence e-filing, deposition notebooks, summarizing depositions, summarizing health records, PowerPoint presentations, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Using case management software (Needles) to document case history and status.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Power user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Needles Case Management software a plus
  • Organized
  • Self-Directed
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple lawyers

Education and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in personal injury law
  • Either a College Degree or a Paralegal Certificate

Legal Secretary

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage attorneys’ calendars, i.e. set hearings, trials, depositions
  • Draft discovery to defendant, draft motions as requested
  • E-file
  • Keep track of new litigation cases to ensure that service is complete, set mediation, trial and depositions.
  • Prepare correspondence for attorneys to send client copy of lawsuit, notify client of trial setting, deposition and mediation dates.
  • Assist paralegals and attorneys as requested
  • Prepare deposition, mediation and hearing note books
  • Needles Case Management software knowledge is a plus

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a legal secretary

Pre-Litigation Case Manager

Responsibilities Include:

  • Working and maintaining client cases in Needles Case Management Software
  • Maintaining a portfolio of approximately 70 pre-litigation cases
  • Obtaining police reports/incident reports
  • Verifying insurance and setting up liability, personal injury protection, uninsured/underinsured and health insurance claims
  • Sending out Preservation Notices to adverse carriers and defendants
  • Setting up inspections, if needed
  • Sending out CPRC Health Notices, confirming provider received it
  • Drafting client correspondence
  • Communicating with clients to determine medical provider information
  • Maintaining client contact to determine treatment status
  • Working closely with the medical clerk to ensure medical/billing records are up-to-date
  • Obtaining a health insurance statement of payments made on behalf of the client and making sure they related to the accident
  • Ensuring our clients are receiving medical treatment and are following doctor’s orders as prescribed
  • Preparing demand letters for liability, personal injury protection and uninsured/underinsured
  • Assisting with follow up calls to adjusters
  • Scheduling regular monthly file reviews with attorneys
  • Preparing settlement breakdowns
  • Assisting with obtaining reductions

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Power user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Familiarity with Needles Case Management software a plus
  • Organized
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Intake Coordinator

Responsibilities Include:

  • Answer telephone inquiries from potential new clients
  • Manage and respond to online/live chat inquiries
  • Communicate professionally with clients, legal staff, insurance providers, and government entities. Knowledge of Needles case management software is a plus
  • Sign up new clients on contract and complete their intake packet
  • Educate clients on understanding insurance coverage(s)
  • Obtain client identification, property damage and personal injury photos, and gather information about auto and health insurance and medical treatment received since the date of accident
  • Set up new clients in case management software
  • Retrieve the certified crash report
  • Order open records and send out preservation letters and letters of representation to insurance companies
  • Verify insurance coverage, acceptance of liability, and policy limits

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in personal injury law
  • Spanish speaking (preferred)
  • Attention to detail
