About 115 miles south of San Antonio at approximately 7:00 AM on Thursday, January 15, a tanker truck full of oil crashed into a pickup truck and then rolled onto its side. Another vehicle and a van then collided with the tanker causing it to burst into flames. The five men in the van all died at the scene, and their names have been released by the Texas Department of Public Safety: Justin Lara, Juan Francisco Medellin, Edward Pena, Carlos Rubio, and Sergio Javier Veyro. They were all on their way home from work when they were killed in this tragic crash.
The driver of the pickup reportedly had burns over 80 percent of his body and was sent to a San Antonio hospital.
