Tom Crosley received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in 1988, and his law degree from the University of Houston in 1992. He was admitted to the bar in the State of Texas in 1992 and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Prior to forming the Crosley Law Firm, P.C. in 2005, he was a partner with Branton & Hall, P.C. in San Antonio, where he worked for ten years. He began his legal career in Houston as an associate at Brown McCarroll, LLP.
Mr. Crosley currently serves on the Executive Committee of the AAJ TBI Litigation Group. He previously served as one of two elected directors from San Antonio on the Board of the State Bar of Texas (District 10, Place 1; 2021-2024). He is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, is board-certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has been board-certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
In 2001, he was appointed by the Bexar County Commissioners Court to the Advisory Board for the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center, and he served in that position until 2006.
Mr. Crosley is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation as well as a Life Fellow and former president of the San Antonio Bar Foundation. He is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Crosley has tried more than 60 cases as first-chair trial counsel, nearly all of them from the plaintiff’s side of the docket. His docket of cases includes personal injury and wrongful death cases arising from automobile and trucking accidents, defective products, industrial injuries, and related areas. A particular focus of his practice is on traumatic brain injury cases, with several high-profile cases resulting in seven and eight-figure settlements.
In 2006 ($28,000,000), 2010 ($16,028,328), and 2016 ($11,485,000), he obtained one of the 100 highest personal injury verdicts in the nation, as reported by ALM. In 2018, and again in 2022, he obtained two of the top 10 car crash verdicts in Texas, as reported by Texas Lawyer. In 2023, he obtained the highest UIM verdict and recovery ($2,100,000) against an auto insurer. Mr. Crosley was also lead trial and appellate counsel in the seminal UIM case of Allstate v. Irwin, which was decided by the Texas Supreme Court in Crosley’s favor in 2021. Many of Mr. Crosley’s cases have been covered by news affiliates for ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and more, including one series of cases featured on the national program Inside Edition.
Mr. Crosley frequently serves as an author and speaker at legal seminars, webinars, and podcasts on topics related to personal injury trial law and has given about 100 such presentations. He is the host of the legal podcast “Winning the TBI Case: Strategy, Science, and Storytelling. Mr. Crosley has been selected as a Texas Super Lawyer each year since 2004 and has been named as one of the “Top 50 Lawyers in Central and West Texas” by that publication since 2015.
