Tips for a Safe New Year’s Celebration

The new year is quickly approaching, and as you plan your celebrations for the holiday, there are some tips you can follow to make sure your holiday is safe.

  1. If youā€™re going out, have a designated driver. If youā€™re the driver, be aware of the drivers around you. You canā€™t predict what others are going to do, however, and staying put is a good idea.
  2. You may need a second option to get home safely. Keep on hand a number for a taxi service just in case.
  3. Limit your cocktails and drink responsibly. Donā€™t leave your drink unattended.
  4. Celebrate with friends and stay together in your group.
  5. If you have your own party, keep things under control by limiting alcohol consumption, serving food, and cutting off the serving alcohol well in advance of the end of the party. For the best outcome, stick to inviting people you know, and who will be responsible and respectful. It is also a good idea to have places for people to sleep if needed.
  6. Skip the fireworks. Approximately 8,500 people visit emergency rooms each year in the US for fireworks injuries. It is a better idea to see a professional display than to light off your fireworks.
  7. Charge your phone before you leave the house. You donā€™t want to be stranded without a way to call someone.

From everyone at Crosley Law, we hope you have a Happy New Year!
