Castro v. HCM Hospital

During her birth, Baby Castro suffered hypoxia, or lack of oxygen, to the brain.  This resulted in her being born with cerebral palsy and permanent brain damage.  Crosley Law Firm reviewed thousands of pages of medical and hospital records, served subpoenas, and took depositions of the doctors and nurses involved in her care.  Crosley Law Firm also consulted with some of the leading experts in the nation in the fields of maternal-fetal medicine, OB nursing, and hospital administration.

Crosley Law Firm was able to prove that, in the 1-2 hours before her birth, Baby Castroā€™s fetal monitor tracings showed a lack of oxygen to the baby, and that the hospitalā€™s protocol for handling this type of emergency was not adequately followed, thus resulting in Baby Castroā€™s life-long injuries.  The lawsuit resulted in a confidential settlement shortly before trial.  As part of the settlement, a trust fund was created to help provide for the childā€™s continuing needs.
