“Profit over care: Dental patients complain of unnecessary work” — KHOU 11

Reporters from KHOU in Houston spoke with Tom Crosley about statewide complaints from dental patients whose dentists performed unnecessary procedures on them for billing purposes. Tom Crosley represented more than 250 children who received such procedures in a personal injury lawsuit, which concluded in 2014 with a court-approved confidential settlement for the victims. He told KHOU that he investigated the claims thoroughly and alerted state regulators about the gratuitous procedures, but saw little in the way of results.

“A lot of the complaints that we would make to the dental board would just go into a dark hole somewhere,” Crosley said.
