SAN ANTONIO, Texas, Aug. 2011 – The Crosley Law Firm, P.C. completed a confidential settlement today in a case involving spinal injuries to a 45-year-old San Antonio woman. The accident happened at 8:48 a.m. on August 21, 2009, on Highway 90 in San Antonio, Texas.

An 18-wheeler owned and operated by a large national trucking company made an unsafe lane change, clipping a Honda Civic in the process. The Honda Civic lost control and collided with Crosleyā€™s client, in turn causing her Mercury Sable to spin out of control and crash into a concrete retaining wall. After the Sable came to rest, it was impacted again by oncoming traffic.  Crosleyā€™s client suffered multiple injuries, the most serious of which was a herniated disc in the neck at C5-C6. She underwent physical therapy and a series of epidural steroid injections. Ultimately after this conservative course of medical treatment, she was advised that she would need to undergo neck surgery ā€” specifically an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at C5-C6.

The investigating police officer concluded that the truck driver’s inattention was the primary cause of the wreck. Crosley was able to prove that the trucking company was legally responsible, and that the clientā€™s injuries and ongoing need for medical treatment were proximately caused by the collision. The case was settled for a confidential sum. Tom Crosley was the lead attorney for the plaintiff.
