Our 50-year-old client was rear-ended on I-35 by a construction-equipment company’s work truck. She suffered a herniated disc in her lower back, a brain injury, and an elbow injury, and went through several pain procedures. The company blamed another driver and her medical history. Its driver had two earlier crashes while working for the same company. We settled the week before trial for $1.15 million.

Our 18-year-old client had a green light when a driver ran a red light and broadsided her car. She suffered a broken leg that was missed at first and later needed surgery. Months into the case, the insurance company disclosed an excess policy it had not revealed before. We pressed for the full coverage and settled for $1,225,055 before trial.

Our 20-year-old client, a college student, was driving through an intersection when another driver ran a stop sign and hit the driver’s side of his car. Our client, a university professor with no history of neck problems, was hurt when a commercial truck backed into her vehicle. She needed a cervical disc replacement. The company argued the impact was too minor to cause her injury, so we took the case to trial. A Bexar County jury returned a verdict of $1,868,558.62.

We proved our client needed recommended back surgery after getting hit in an intersection accident, raising the initial settlement offer from $200,000.
