

Vanessa O’Brien is a native of Laredo, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University, graduating magna cum laude. She earned her law degree from St. Mary’s University in 2017. Vanessa is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
While in law school, Vanessa gained valuable insight into federal courts by serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Marina Garcia Marmolejo in the Southern District of Texas, and as a legal intern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas. She also contributed to the St. Mary’s Law Journal as a staff writer, worked as an evidence professor’s research assistant, and participated as a member of the St. Mary’s External Advocacy Program Moot Court team, earning recognitions for her written advocacy skills at state and national competitions. After receiving her J.D., Vanessa worked for a civil litigation firm in San Antonio handling complex civil litigation matters and mass tort cases. She then spent five years as an insurance defense attorney, handling a variety of personal injury matters. Vanessa joined Crosley Law in May 2025, bringing her broad litigation experience to our practice.
Vanessa is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association, and the San Antonio Bar Foundation – Fellow Class of 2022. In 2023, she graduated from the Bexar County Women’s Bar Foundation LEAD Academy. She has been recognized as a Rising Legal Star in San Antonio Scene Magazine.
